Recap of the Combat Event on 10/5:
Strong southern winds were present all day Saturday October 5th at Rainford Field, the home of the Midwest Sundowners. Before the competition began, a plaque dedicated to Dan Sisco was placed on the southern wind sock tower. Dan served on the clubs mowing crew for over 20 years. Dan's widow Maria and her family came to the field to view this plaque in memory of Dan's service.
11 pilots participated in the Combat event and flying began around 9:30 AM. Glenn Lang created the Race Matrix and 5 minute heats were flown with 3 to 4 pilots in each heat. 4 total rounds were flown before the conclusion of the event.
